Summary | 0006356: Miners mine to exclusion of drinking |
Description | I had designated a large area to be mined out, and then let my miners go at it. I was paying attention enough to note that my miners were thirsty, but thought nothing of it. For too long. Suddenly I got a message "(insertname), miner has died of thirst". I checked, and sure enough, there's the corpse, right next to the other miner who is not yet dead but very thirsty and very unhappy. I have booze present, so I thought maybe it was the stairs, because I am using a different setup than usual... all I did, however, was remove the dig designation and the dwarf suddenly ran for the booze stockpile, down the stairs as appropriate - so it wasn't the stair setup - and died of thirst on the floor with the booze stockpile. |
Steps To Reproduce | I am reporting it now despite not reproducing it yet, but presumably the method should be easy:
Designate a large area to be mined out, such that the miners will die of thirst long before the area is completed unless they drink. Mine didn't drink - the task seems to have been of lower priority compared to 'dig'. |
