Summary | 0008696: Giant cave spider becomes non-hostile after receiving a name
Description | I sent a military squad in to deal with a GCS, and the commander and another soldier were killed in the battle. The GCS was then named, and ceased being hostile to both soldiers and civilians. Haulers were happy to collect the deceased’s armor while the spider crawled right next to them. The spider can still be killed via a direct kill order, but will not actively fight back. Other soldiers are able to kill the spider with ease. This is the second time I've seen this issue, the other occurring in a previous version. So I stand to believe that the issue may be consistent.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Send troops to kill a GCS (or possibly another large creature) 2. Have some soldiers die, so the creature can be named 3. The creature should no longer respond to your troops or civilians.

Related to 0000842, but not a duplicate I don't think, since this is the first I've heard of an un[INTELLIGENT] creature going friendly. IIRC in previous versions this was caused by the creature or entity in question having engaged in combat with/killed? a Forgotten Beast. |

Here is another save from 44.05 with a forgotten beast hanging out in the tavern (f1). http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=13456 [^] |

Had a similar situation occur as of 44.11 and the beast still acted as normal even after being named, so this issue might be resolved. |

I'm not sure that one hostile named critter is sufficient proof that this is working. If anyone experiences this bug in 44.11+ please mention it below. |
