Summary | 0001295: Channelling ledges can leave floating downward slopes |
Description | Designated channels to be dug in a ledge over two levels of empty space, to expand the cavern. Channels were dug, a cavern collapse occurred, but one downward slope was left, unconnected to anything below or adjacent on same level.

Those ghost ramps are an old bug from back in 40D and probably even earlier. |

OK, I hadn't seen them before; channelling didn't leave ramps in 40d. They seem to popup wherever there had previously been a pillar dug out from below that was then channelled out from above. |

Its usually caveins that cause this, or collapsing an entire chunk of mountain.
Although the way you describe it is different abd sounds like the game tried to create a ramp but there was nothing to make it out of. |

Confirmed. Made big hall 3 floors high with cave-in, and see floating downward slopes (actually 5 of them) just under the hall's ceiling. Slopes resulted from channeling.
I'll try to cave-in one more level and see if that destroy them.
UPD. Cavein of upper floor erased them. Now it's nice square cavern.

Just wanted to mention it is still around in 40.10. I just created a floating downward slope when channeling out my staircase and creating an accidental cave-in. |
