Summary | 0000158: Faction leader gave task to kill demonic law-giver of same faction |
Description | I asked to serve the leader of a human faction. He asked me to kill a demon. However, this particular demon had tricked that very same faction into making him their law-giver (and was in fact at that very moment in the same mead hall with the faction leader). So I try to kill the demon, and all of the humans in the mead hall, including the faction leader who just asked me to do so, attacked me. |
Steps To Reproduce | I have the world if you want it. It's a pocket island so it probably shouldn't be too hard to reproduce. The demon in question is Sath, the elk brute. If you go to his town and ask the leader about service I'd guess he'll probably ask you to kill him as the nearest demon. |

Oh, actually the demon had tricked the humans into thinking he was a god of some sort, THEN they made him their law-giver. |

This sounds...EXACTLY like what toady described in the devlog on 03/28/2010. |
So it is... My demon even had three eyes! Clearly this is a bug with third eyes. |

I wonder if there'd be a way of making this into a feature: they attack you until the demon is slain. If you slay the demon quickly or quietly, they celebrate you as a hero. If you don't slay the demon effortlessly, they would have to help him fight you out of fear of retribution. |

This is too cool to fix :) |
When I attacked the law-giver, I had a nearby woodcutter start attacking the demon. Then after I killed the lawgiver he attacked me. I figured I'd ignore him and run back to the warlord, but got threatened by the warlord and attacked (by everyone eventually).
Suffice to say, the whole town is dead and I can't get rid of the task. |

I also have this buggyish feature. A huge three-eyed gecko brute lawgiver. He's loads of fun. |
Quests and factions have changed so drastically I'd be willing to bet this is "fixed" |
I agree, this probably no longer occurs. |
