Summary | 0001662: I have not received an Immigrant in years. |
Description | I received one immigration, Very early in the game.
Since then I have seen no one else. This is weird because in my Civ menu I can see that there is another dwarf fort near by, though I have no ability to contact them.
I have built a paved road to the edge, to my entrance and trading post. But no one ever comes. I have accumulated a bit of wealth, have many masterpieces. The Dwarves are well fed, and seem to be in a good mood.
But my pop is stuck at 15 or so, and all the children always get stolen by goblins. So I have had no new people.
I have not picked nobles for ever slot (because there are two few their to spare).
Is this normal or is something going on? |

First guess, the goblins are intercepting them on the way to your fort.
I had a caravan not show up. Soon thereafter, my first invaders -- 16 goblins arrived, resulting in mass "fun". |

I played like 6-7 years (.03).. I had same problem, at first I got few migrant waves which ended up totaling my dwarfs to around 15-20.. Then the migrants stopped, I never saw an caravan - neither did I ever saw any hostiles.. My few dwarves lived happily doing their thing, ever expanding their fortress and breeding.. |

I am pretty sure it is that same as 0000545 after reading it.
From what I understand, there is no way to tell whether you will ever get another Immigrant after the game has already started.
But if I understand right, you must start the generated world as adventurer and see if you can pick a dwarf, or you must use legends to see if the dwarf city is killed.
Do I have this right? Having immigrants or not is a big part of the game, and I would expect a person to be able to find out before game as easy as if there was an Aquifor on the map. |

You can also use Legends mode to check your civ status. To bypass the "in game" bit, you can just make a copy of your save game, and abandon one of the copies to get to the other game modes. |

Same problem over here. Plenty of ambushes and childnappers, but no dwarven immigrants whatsoever. It's really getting sort of boring. |

Between possible civ death and all the changes to migrants that have since occurred, this is probably no longer relevant. |
