Summary | 0001955: dwarves rest outside of the hospital zone |
Description | some of my dwarves rest outside the hospital zone.
despite this they were treated successfully (as far as treatments are working yet, surgery to one dwarf was never successful, but this is another bug) |
Steps To Reproduce | this has never happened to me with .03, though now after a fight with multiple injuries, 2 of 4 injured dwarves rested in the bedroom instead of the hospital. (there were enough free beds at the moment I noticed them not resting in the hospital zone) |
Additional Information | since I put up a save for another bug, I can reuse this save for this bug: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=2371 [^]
You can see the dwarf "Degel Ferrigoth" resting in the bedroom and not in the hospital zone. |

I have a few specific questions to ask.
1. Were the beds they rested in unassigned?
2. Were they closer (straight line distance)to the bedrooms than the hospital when they were injured?
I'm suspecting it's highly related to 0000034. |

Thank you for the photos.
From the images it looks like the bedrooms are directly above the battlezone. Since right now pathfinding only takes into consideration straight-line distance - basically it ignores Z-levels - those bedrooms would be closer to the injured combatants than the hospital zone. Since dwarves are ... well, dumb, they probably haul injured to the closest bedroom rather than to the most appropriate location - much like how they sleep in the closest bedroom, it seems. |

Here's another example: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9187 [^]
In this case, he rested in the hospital for a while before retiring to his bedroom. The hospital was definitely closer to the battle site (just inside the entrance). |
