Summary | 0002529: Repeatedly visiting town/site causes animals to accumulate |
Description | First thing first. I got a quest to kill a named warthog. As I search around the designated zone for a bit, I find nothing so I go wander out in the wilderness before coming back with the Travel screen. It seems the town was getting invaded by the local wildlife (around 20 bonobos, 20 warthogs, 12 lions, 12 cheatah, incalculable ammount of giant roaches) so I managed to kill almost all of the animals and went to another town to sell the stuff I took on the dead farmers (hey, you gotta make a livin'). I go back to the said town and encounters even more of the same animals. No problems, I kill them until there is none left... or not! It seems they kept spawning everytime I was not looking and in strange places like on roof of the housing and shop. Again, I Travel out of the town, explore some of the region and come back. after 2-3 times going back in the same town, my computer keeps jamming for longer and longer each time, like there was way too much information being processed. Now, everytime I go to the town and I move a single square, it blocks for ten minutes and up. It's a good thing to note that my computer is able to handle quite a good ammount of stress(i7 930 @ 2.8GHz, 6 GB RAM, HD5850 2Gig edition, that should give you an idea...). It looks like a problem with spawn points (if something like that even exists in DF). |
Steps To Reproduce | I have not tried to reproduce that behavior with another region and character but is always does the same thing for my current one. |
Additional Information | I got the saved region with my character right next to the town in Travel mode. Ask me if you want it. |

Indeed, this looks a lot like this bug. It may be good to point out that I'm on the latest version, 31.08.

I got a similar bug with constant mountain goat attacks on a dwarven village |

Not really block severity. |

This is probably gone and is probably pretty different if it's still around at all. |
