Summary | 0000358: Can't carve/mine ice stairways right above stone layer |
Description | If you carve a down or up/down stairway out of ice when the layer one Z level down is stone, then there will be nothing there once the mining job is done. Up stairways can be carved with no problem, and there is also no problem with ramps. |
Steps To Reproduce | 1) Embark on a glacier.
2) Designate a down stairway on the surface, and then up/down stairways below that until you hit the stone layer. |
Additional Information | This is a old, pre-DF21010 bug, but I figured since we have a shiny new bug tracking system I might as well report it here. |

Notes |
AFAIK Toady's planning to import the old bugs into the tracker. Reporting them again is probably not useful.

Despite age, confirmed that this is still an issue as of DF 31.21 |
Reminder sent to: Vigilant I'm unsure how easy this bug is to reproduce, so it might be helpful to upload your save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] |
You sure? This is literally as clear cut as the reporter says : embark on any glacier, try and dig straight down using up/down stairs. I can upload if you want but I was thinking it'd be a waste... |
Okay, if it's still that easy then no need. Thanks for the corroboration. |
I can confirm, that this bug is still present as of DF 34.07. |
