Summary0003722: Falling damage blocked/deflected by armor results in malformed combat announcements
DescriptionI had a military dwarf fight a buzzard, the dwarf jumped away from it's attack and fell down some stories, breaking his neck. Looked in the combat log, which said, among the standard "...taking the full force of the impact...", as well:
"it The Recruit in the body part, but the attack is deflected by The Recruit's (iron breastplate)!"
Steps To Reproduceput a dwarf in rigid armor, throw him off a high building, look up combat log

The malformations don't stop there: apparently the game doesn't keep up with what body part is actually taking the damage. I had a dwarf equipped with only a helm (over his normal clothing) who was training in wrestling. When he was thrown, "it The militia commander in the lower body, but the attack is deflected by The militia commander's (bronze helm)!"

Does this reproduce regularly in the arena in 0.40+? I've tried dumping some armored people from the heights and the announcements aren't broken.

I couldn't reproduce it either in 0.40+.
The only thing I could find is a slightly awkward phrasing in the report when you throw an armored dwarf and they skid on the ground, e.g:
"Dwarf 1's left lower leg skids along the ground, but it is deflected by Dwarf 1's small steel greaves!"

So the generic "it" refers to the ground, meaning that the ground gets deflected? It's a bit silly, but that's really the only leftover from this bug that I could find in arena mode.
