Summary | 0005136: Adventure mode crashes immediately after starting |
Description | After character generation when hitting "go!" windows immediately reports that the program has stopped working and closes it.
Sometimes when creating a low-skilled peasant character or human outsider it gets as far as loading the game, and will allow you to use the look (k) and travel map (T), but attempting to move anywhere or perform an action on the main screen (e.g. throw a dagger) will cause a crash. |

Ok, I've disabled TrueType, but what should my PRINT_MODE be? it is currently;

I'd try STANDARD, TEXT and PARTIAL:0. |

Just tried a few times. Crashed when I pressed e to embark in the location selection screen.
Have genned several worlds of varying sizes too, it's a recurring theme. I managed to walk around a little a while back, but I went to the travel map, moved a square, then it died when I zoomed back in.

DL'd the save to verify it's not a system-specific thing -- yeah, that certainly does crash.

Maybe it's something to do with the way my system interacts with the world gen? I find it a bit odd how I keep getting this and nobody else has the same problem. |

Just my 2 cents. I had a similar problem months ago. Genned worlds would be corrupt, regardless of which system they were later loaded on. Turned out it was due to RAM going bad. Try running MemTest86+ on the system that generates these worlds. |

I managed to mount MemTest86+ img. file but can't run the boot function for some reason. I tried genning a world in the previous version of DF though and it was A ok. |

Just as an update guys, I haven't had the same problem since using 34 02. Glad to be playing the game, but not sure if that means it's fixed for good. |
