Summary0005261: magma smelters won't make alloys - require fuel
DescriptionWhen I try to select an alloy, such as pig iron or rose gold, the summery screen for alloy production comes up and it says I need fuel.

This only seems to occur with magma smelters. I can make these alloy with a normal smelter without problems (provided I have the fuel)
Steps To ReproduceSet up a magma smelter and try and make an alloy.

The pig iron reaction requires the following reagents - iron, flux, and a fuel source, plus an extra fuel source for powering the smelter. So yes, you need to put extra fuel into the reaction. That means that even with a magma smelter you would require a fuel source. Thus that would explain your behaviour.

Are you sure this is occurring with rose gold? Rose gold does not require extra fuel like the pig iron reaction does, unless you have modified your RAWs.

As there hasn't been any collaboration on this or any follow-up, I'm resolving it as unable to reproduce.

werechicken, if you can provide a save where this is happening, please reopen this report and post a link to to it. If anyone else can provide a save, please message a Manager on the forums.

Hmm, I just had this particular error occur and asked for this to be reopened, but further investigation showed that my instance of this bug was due to Bug#434 (the smelter/burrow issue).

Whoops! I guess this can go back to resolved.

edit: in fact, we can probably assume that was the original cause of this report
