Summary | 0005511: Undead/zombies/reanimated survive magma and fire indefinitely |
Description | This was tested in the arena by exposing animated corpses to magma. The burning test subjects (dwarfs) survived 20 minutes at a frame rate of around 5000 FPS even when completely submerged in magma.
The undead took some initial damage when first forced into contact with the magma, but did not deteriorate any further. |

I can confirm this. Human completely disappear after some seconds, human corpses stand around a long time. |

I can confirm this in version 34.11. I thought dumping zombies/reanimated corpses into a volcano would be a great trap, but they just sink to the bottom of the magma and stand there. |

This has been fixed in 0.40.01. I did some arena testing with undead dwarfs and lava, and the undead properly burn to death now. |
