Summary | 0005514: Stones without MELTING_POINT can't be used to make magma buildings |
Description | Stones without [melting_point] can't be used to make magma buildings. In particular gneiss, schist, phyllite, and slate have been observed to be missing this tag, though there could be others. The stone types without boiling points just don't show up on the materials list. Adding the tag to the raws made them available again. |

Oops, meant to say [melting_point]. |

Is it possible that there is a default stone melting point, and it only needs to be explicit if it's not the default? |

This isn't a bug - if the stone doesn't explicitly define a melting point, it inherits it from STONE_TEMPLATE, and that value happens to be 11500 which makes the stone not magma-safe.
The fact that it was ever possible to use those types of stone in magma buildings was due to bug 0004573 (which was finally fixed in version 0.34.02).

Agree with Quietust. If you have research that shows appropriate melting points (whether magma safe or not) for these stones other than their inherited/default template, please post them in the suggestions forum or PM me on the forums. |
