Summary | 0005569: Stone globs (generated by magma crabs) get stored in food stockpiles |
Description | Basalt, indicated by two wavy gray lines, is being placed in a stockpile designated for food only. The description of the basalt is, "This is a basalt". I'm not sure where the basalt came from since I've never mined any.
I note the description because most stones are described as "This is [stonetype]" rather than "a [stonetype]". |

Notes |
Have you killed any magma men, by chance? They have a liquid basalt layer. |
If it appears as ≈, then it is a glob of stone (the same item type used by fat and tallow, both of which are stored in food stockpiles), normally only acquired when boulders are melted by magma and then allowed to cool. |
After some investigation I discovered that the basalt comes from Magma Crab projectiles.
After the globs are stored in the stockpile another dwarf comes along and cleans them up.

This bug(?) is rather bothersome. A Magma Crab started shooting at some ravens and that caused a bunch of my hauler dwarves to head outside to gather the basalt globs. A few of them ended up walking into range of the Magma Crab and got themselves killed. So I have to keep an eye out and forbid new basalt globs every time the Magma Crab decides to shoot at something.

This may actually be the same as bug 0005739. |

As noted in 0005739, we'll mark this off tentatively. If it isn't fixed as of 0.40.01, feel free to re-report/re-open. |
