Summary | 0000657: Weapon skills don't increase when attacking prone (conscious) targets |
Description | When punching a skeletal bear several times I never got any skill increases in striking or other skills. I got skill as normal for picking up rocks and throwing them (both archery and throwing) but none for unarmed, non-wrestling attacks. |
Steps To Reproduce | Play an adventurer and drop any weapons and proceed to attack a foe. Notice no increase in offensive skills. |

Additionally, after picking up my spear, I am unable to train spear-use on the same foe. If I strike another foe, then spear use is trained normally, even against the first foe. |

I tested this a little. It seems like striker skill doesn't go up from punching prone targets, but there may be other factors. |

No skill other than wrestling seems to go up when attacking a prone target, at least that's the way it was in the old version. If someone goes down, you have to either wait for them to get back up or just start wrasslin' with the suckers if you want a skill increase.
One of the reasons why I very rarely, if ever, use "charge" attacks. |

It seems this has changed, presumably with the recent adventure skill rewrite. I've been getting skill increases from attacking prone targets. Can anyone else verify? |
