0000697: Invincible Dwarves with Speed-Heal
In Dwarf Mode I have a Berserk dwarf chasing around my other dwarves. However, the dwarves don't seem to get more than 3-ish injuries at a time before they magically heal themselves. This happens every few minutes or so.

Most units seem to regenerate very quickly while in combat, which makes it nigh impossible to take down tough enemies if your dwarves are undergeared. Even bright yellow (broken) injuries will heal in a matter of seconds. I've seen this happen to friendly dwarves, werewolves, and forgotten beasts.

Similarly, elephants who wander through my field of stonefall traps display this rainbow of wounds that is gone less than a minute later. Only the red wounds stick.

The colour coding is different than in 40d. Dark yellow is barely scratched, yellow is slightly impaired, cyan is badly impaired and only red is broken. The issue here might be instead that combat doesn't cause enough damage. The healing is probably fine, since a few minutes may represent a few days, over which minor injuries are expected to heal.

Ah, but in my save the injuries healing in a minute are mostly red/cyan. And if it's causing two dwarves to go on fighting indefinitely, there's definitely a problem.

"Dark yellow is barely scratched, yellow is slightly impaired, cyan is badly impaired and only red is broken."

This isn't very true.

Brown ("dark yellow") means superficial damage but can include wounds that cause massive bleeding if you're unlucky (since bleeding doesn't really require that the structure of the part be impaired)
Yellow means that the structural integrity of the part is compromised, but that the part can still function.
Cyan means that structural integrity isn't very affected, but that part of the function of the part is lost; you see this a lot on, say, a bruised organ.
Red means the part has lost basically all integrity whatsoever, like if bones get badly broken.
Dark grey, like usual, means the part is gone.

In other words, they no longer exist on some sort of one-dimensional scale, at least not entirely.

Red/cyan wounds healing too quickly is strange, but that could always be a case of the game just displaying information that makes you think the wounds are worse than they are. Either way, it's a problem.

Yeah, this kind of explains why some of my soldiers with "yellow" injuries just stand up and go to train after being looked on by a doctor (no suturing, dressing or whatever). Nevertheless, it's still too fast. And I don't think that even the slightest injuries (like a black eye or something) should heal in a matter of seconds, it's just not realistic at all. It should take at least a day or two. Also, healing speed of monsters, animals and invaders should be the same as of the dwarfs, otherwise they are impossible to fight.

I never noticed this extremely old bug and there is no savegame here.

i had something similar today, my fully geared squad all starved to death while fighting a bronze forgotten beast, i know it being bronze would cause it to be hard to kill but the damage they did was enough to kill it but after a while all i saw was wounds disappearing and them just standing and fighting chipping this or breaking that but the breaks would heal almost instantly
