Summary | 0007288: Squads report to incorrect location when using Defend Burrow order |
Description | When squads are given a 'Defend Burrow' order, they do not go to the assigned burrow. Other squad schedules work (train, station, patrol). Civilians can be assigned to the burrow successfully, move/station there with no problem. Squad members will show as 'Defending <burrowname>', but station at random locations.
Notes:
Fresh download of [0.40.03], no modifications.
Does not appear to be time based ( tested by waiting 1+ calendar months).
Changing the squad schedule will occasionally send them to the burrow before the new order kicks in.
Burrow size does not matter.
Number of burrows doesn't matter.
I have done this successfully in 34.11. Known to fail in 40.03 and 40.02. |
Steps To Reproduce | Create world
Embark
Create a burrow
Create a squad
Create an alert
Set the squad schedule for that alert to 'Defend Burrow', select new burrow.
Select the squad, set their schedule to the new alert.
Units appear to be stationed at random locations |

I've noticed this twice already in my forts, and also captnduck has encountered this very bug on livestream last night... |

Retested with 40.04. Same behavior. Job list shows squad is defending burrow, squad does not report to burrow. |

I get this, although generally 2 or 3 dwarves (out of the 10 total) will correctly find their way to the burrow - I can't reliably recreate this, however, so I can't pin down the conditions that cause it.
Those who get stuck seem to freeze in place on being assigned the "Defend Burrow x" job, and will often be found in meeting halls, food stockpiles, and other "off duty" locations. |

40.05, same behaviour here. Define burrow, assign squads to defend burrow, they will wander off and "station" themselves in fairly arbitrary places throughout the fort with the "Defend Burrow" job showing as active. Changing burrows/squads assigned makes no difference; the same behaviour will be repeated. |
