Summary | 0007554: Crowded animals are too docile |
Description | Compared to v34.11, overcrowded animals are very docile. Not sure if this is a bug or a change to something like the GROUNDED_ANIMAL_ANGER ticker. |
Steps To Reproduce | Embark (40.04)
Create a one tile room (wood is fastest) with a door.
In this one tile, create a Pen/Pasture zone and a burrow.
Pasture all animals in this zone.
Create a civilian alarm for this burrow, activate it.
All animals and dwarves should now be on a single tile.
Wait for the dwarves to die. Note the lack of animal aggression.
v34.11
Same. Animal aggression begins inside the first month. |
Additional Information | I've attempted to scale test this in a mature fort. 120+ dwarves, 17 dogs, 5+ cats, and a handful of misc birds all will happily stand in the same tile until the dwarves die of hunger/thirst. |

Notes |
Update: Doesn't appear to be time related either. Left the dogs in an enclosed 1x1 pasture for a year. No fighting. |

Retested with 40.05, same behavior. |
Retested in 40.06, no change for fresh embark or saved games. |
Retested on 40.10 embark, no change. Possibly intentional? |
