Summary | 0007566: Miner stuck with dig in the corner probably a pathfinding problem |
Description | Miner stuck at a spot after he was commanded to dig a spot he almost starved to death I solved it by removing that particular block from mining it and he went back to no job.
|
Steps To Reproduce | I don't really know |
Additional Information | probability of the causes:
it's at a reclaimed fortress btw so it might be a pathfinding problem
ramps were being removed at that time so the path was probably removed when he was assign to it |

I've had similar things happen in 40.03 and 40.04.
In one case, two dwarves were ordered to deconstruct a wall when getting stuck a few tiles away from it. The 10 or so tiles of wall were deconstructed without problem.
The other time an architect got stuck while designing a paved road.
I think in both cases, the path or the job item got disturbed at some point.
In the latter, it was a road built from ice - I assume the ice melted.
I'm not sure about the former, but I suspect a path has become unavailable; I was building new walls at the same time.
The solution for both was to cancel their job and reassign it.
Expected behavior would be a canceled job and message like "cancels construct floor: job item lost" or ""cancels give water: water source vanished"
I should mention though that these still happen - the bugged behavior only occurs on occasion.

"I was building new walls at the same time" should make this a duplicate of 0006842. |

to be honest I wasn't building any new walls at that time this probably happens even when you remove their paths as I mentioned
"ramps were being removed at that time so the path was probably removed when he was assign to it" |
|
|
|
I do think it's not so much the walls as having their path removed. |

That quote was for clanl. Given that you most likely removed the path thereby making the miner get stuck is the same behaviour as building a wall and causing a citizen to get stuck. Please continue discussion in 0006842. If you find that your case is specific to reclaim or ramps, please reopen this report with new information. |
