0008030: Dwarves cannot path to monsters made of fire or with a very high body heat as the air surrounding them is too hot
Dwarves (or any non-fire-immune creature) attempting to kill monsters made of fire or with a fire-like body temperature will be marked as having no valid target and will refuse to attack, as they cannot path into the area directly surrounding the target. This also works in reverse; units without fire immunity standing on a burning tile are rendered completely unable to move, as the area around the tile is too hot for them to path through.

One would expect at least the bravest soldiers to be willing to dash through a wall of flames to reach their targets, especially if killing the target (especially especially a target as physically vulnerable as one made of fire) would render the area less unappealing.

This does not affect Marksdwarves or other ranged attackers since they don't have to get close enough to be affected by the heat, but renders fortresses with no ranged capabilities completely vulnerable to incineration.
Command a militia squad equipped with melee weapons to attack a creature made of fire, watch as they do nothing and your fortress burns to the ground.
