This save is is just before the spring of the second year of the fortress. Shortly after loading the expedition leader is promoted to queen. It becomes impossible to set any other noble. Pressing Z to display the fortress status no longer displays wealth values. The Units->Manager screen is also no longer available.

Checking the Civilization screen before promotion shows no notables. After the promotion some random people elsewhere in the world are suddenly notable.

In reference to http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=6874 [^] which was resolved by considering the promotion a feature:
Given the ability to promote random historical figures elsewhere, it should be reasonable to promote the monarch elsewhere and give a message that the monarchy has been restored.
Also it is more reasonable to take away the option to avoid nobles and perform promotions through the standard chain of levels. Jumping straight to monarch when you have a wealth less than 100K and only 15 people is silly.
