Summary | 0000961: Merchants leave through underground |
Description | Human caravan came in, we traded, they left... heading down the stair and leaving the map through the underground caves. It's a little bug but a bug nonetheless, I think. |

Interesting trade route. Did they travel through parts of your fortress, that you specifically dug out, to get to the caves? |
I've had this problem before...with elves, in fact. Seems like they path to the closest map edge, which might be underground |
Wirrit: yeah, they led their mules through my huuuuge staircase down to the second underground level, killed some crundles and left. The staircase uses only up stair and down stair, not up/down stair - not sure if they could path through the latter. |

I just had this happen. Human, Underground level 2. I am reasonably sure this is not the fastest way out of my fortress. |
They go for the nearest edge, I think.
I've noticed that in my case, about half of the pack animals leaves through underground, the other half leaves normally aboveground. I'm talking about animals from the same caravan. |

Same thing happened to me as well elves came to trade I lock them in with my drawbridge, deconstructed the trade depot and when they decide to leave they all fled through the underground cave... seems they only do this if the cave connects to the edge of the map.

they went into a pit/pool and went nuts rather than leave
That's not trivial.
