Summary | 0003840: Crash when target creature (target of militia squad) escapes play area |
Description | The game crashes when a creature, that a militia squad is assigned to attack and kill, exits the map tile in which the fortress is in. So, when the target goes over the edge of the play area in fortress mode. |
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Select random creature to kill via squad-command interface, preferably one that is close to edge of map.
2. Wait until soldiers come close enough to make the creature flee, and pray that it exits the map area by crossing the edge.
It worked with zombie giant eagles, kobold thieves, and mountain goats; so it's not connected to a specific type of creature. |
Additional Information | If you cancel the attack order before the creature exits the screen, the game won't crash, that's why I reckon it's a low priority bug. I think it's a (lack of) exception handling thing in the target tracking part of code. I'd be curious about what kind of value the "position of target" returns when it exits the play area (NULL?) ... |
