Summary | 0000625: Flesh Balls
Description | Flesh Balls cannot die or go unconscious. They rolled into my fort, with dogs latch on them, and now everyone is constantly being interrupted by them. Their one body part, body, is torn open, dented, and bruised; but there is no unconsciousness or death. They have become exhausted and in extreme pain, but nothing else. I'm calling this a bug because once they get in your fort, there's no stopping them and no one is able to ignore them. Another part of this bug is that it seems that the dogs that have latched onto the flesh balls don't seem to tire and keep re-latching once knocked off. They won't ignore the flesh balls and they won't do anything besides attacking them.

Oh god, that sounds terrifying |

This isn't entirely correct, flesh balls *can* be killed. I was mucking around in arena mode with a goblin that was "skilled" in axe use, and who had a copper axe. He was able to slaughter three of the things in short order. And no, these weren't the infinitely weaker "cave blob", these were flesh balls. Not to say that I wasn't surprised by that development. Flesh balls ARE insanely difficulty to do away with under normal circumstances, and in fort mode you're probably going to have a difficult time with them. However, as evidenced, a good, solid axe can chop 'em up quite nicely. |

I got a forgotten beast in the shape of a blob composed of vomit, it simply refused to die, even with tens of dogs attacking together with all my military and half my regular dwarves... |

Flesh balls are pretty much killable now as of 31.06, just requires something with teeth or a blade. |
