Summary | 0007439: Invaders still listed as missing after their corpses have been retrieved
Description | I got an early goblin siege where the goblins started across the river from my fort. They decided to cross the river at the natural ford where the water was only 3-4 deep, and about half of them were therefore swept over the waterfall, where some died on impact and others loitered, technically extending the siege through multiple seasons, until the river froze, killing them. However, I now have six goblins listed on the unit list under dead/missing as "missing", even after I dug out the ice and retrieved their bodies and loot. Their mortal remains are now gracing my refuse stockpile, so surely there shouldn't be any lingering doubts as to their fate?

Possibly related to 0006534, even though it's not exactly the same issue. 0007278 was marked as a duplicate of that one, and it _is_ the same issue as this one - corpses with known fate (killed by player) are listed as missing. I have the same issue with drowned kobolds and a human pikeman that my militia killed. |

Sometimes even your dorfs die, been transported to the corpse stockpile by other dorfs, and still listed as missing... As a result, those dorfs are not buried until someone randomly go into the morgue and "discover" the body... My theory is that dorfs become "horrified" before they mark the body "discovered", or something related to that... How can it be that the dorf who carried the corpse didn't "found" it dead... Or maybe it's relevant to the new gossip system from adv-mode... |
