Load the save, unpause and wait a second or two.
Additional InformationEdit: Disbanding the only squad resolves the crash temporarily (IE: Removing the militia commander via the military screen)

 This crash is caused by the same disconnect of squad position info and unit squad info from 0000536, and the save is repaired properly, but I'm still not sure on the root cause.
