Summary | 0002353: Traders leaving items behind and/or dwarves taking all of their stuff
Description | After you make a successful trade, it seems like your dwarves automatically retrieve the goods you bought. After that, I used to manually go to g and take back all of my tradeable items as well, as I was done trading. Trading seemed to work normally. Then one time the traders announced they were leaving, and my dwarves started taking all of their stuff. I thought it was because I had removed my goods before they left, but now I've had this happen even when I don't manually retrieve my goods. It seems once the traders start to leave I get everything. My stockpiles are becoming swamped!
Steps To Reproduce | Unknown.
Additional Information | This may only happen with elven traders who have had their liason killed.

The version field is important. What version are you using? This sounds like 0000325, which was fixed in 31.06. After you upgrade to 31.06, you may need the workaround described at 0002253:0008133. |

I am 99% sure I selected 31.06 when I submitted the bug. Maybe my mousewheel slipped. I would change it but I see no way to edit the information. I don't see how it's 0000325 as the complaint is not about number of goods they carry, either too many or zero, but about the fact they leave them behind, which would seem to be what they wouldn't do. I've not seen any warthogs, so I don't believe they are at issue, but I haven't checked every animal they have either. I will try the 0002253:0008133 workaround as it is a 31.05 save transferred to 31.06 with updated raws. However, I highly doubt that will fix the problem. Were any other trade animals changed which I might check as well? Okay, so I per 0002253:0008133 I added [COMMON_DOMESTIC][PACK_ANIMAL] to the warthog. Should I also add [TRADE_CAPACITY:2000] according to 0001705? Because it does not appear the raws for 31.06 have any trade capacity for the warthog. Finally, do I only need to edit the savegame raw file or the main tree raw file as well? |

I don't see how it's 0000325 as the complaint is not about number of goods they carry, either too many or zero, but about the fact they leave them behind, which would seem to be what they wouldn't do. One of the possible results of 0000325, described in 0001965, was the merchants leaving all their stuff at the depot. Were any other trade animals changed which I might check as well? Don't think so. Should I also add [TRADE_CAPACITY:2000] according to 0001705? Because it does not appear the raws for 31.06 have any trade capacity for the warthog. That wouldn't hurt, although it might not be necessary since PACK_ANIMAL should now give them a reasonable default trade capacity. Finally, do I only need to edit the savegame raw file or the main tree raw file as well? Just the save. In worlds generated in 31.06, elves won't keep trying to use warthogs. |

All right, thanks for all the help! Sorry I don't know how to work this bug tracking system better; it's entirely new to me. |

No problem. Did it work? |

Human traders were fine but we'll see how the elves do. |

That seems to have fixed it! Elven traders left without a fuss. You can close this one. |
