Summary | 0005555: War dogs ignore "tightly closed" and forbidden doors (walk through them, then can´t find back).
Description | I have a couple of war dogs in my fortress. Currently not assigned to dwarves and not pastured, so they run around freely in my fortress. I noticed that they somehow manage to slip through doors which are marked as forbidden and tightly closed. But then they seem to be unable to find the way back. Both rooms where that keeps happening all the time have the forbidden doors at the south wall, so it seems that they can be passed from south to north, but not from north to south.
Steps To Reproduce | I have yet to try to reproduce that on another map, but I watched it happen multiple times in my current fort.

In all likelihood, they're just slipping through the doorway while it was held open by a dwarf. The fact that they're even trying to go through those doors is 0000797. |

Not in my case. The doors are marked as forbidden, so my dwarves don´t open them. And I watched it happen while no dwarf was nearby. |

Got to be ghosts, then :) |

Please upload a save demonstrating this problem to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] |

Were the war dogs involved in any combat recently? If so, it's possible they dodged into the doors, making this 0004902. |

Maybe they were fighting each other or other pets, I had more than 50 running around in my fort. I tried to reproduce the situation on two new embarks but it didn´t happen again. And I watched my current fort for an hours or so and couldn´t reproduce it there either. I guess for the time being this ticket can be ignored until I can provide a savegame where it occurs again. |

Confirmed for 34.11 One of my old forts had a goblin slaughter pen I used to train my soldiers. Naturally I added a door with tightly-sealed to keep their pets from stealing the kills. I had a war leopard and about a million war dogs and only the dogs ended up sneaking into the murder room and being unable to get out. I can also confirm my setup involved the dogs moving north-south and being stuck exiting south-north |
