Summary | 0008436: Major combat bug: Stationed military dwarfs dodge almost indefinitely rather than fighting back
Description | Through some save-scumming effort I've managed to get a save file where this will occur every time. Start the save, and watch the large group of stationed dwarves. Check the battle reports. You'll find pages and pages that look like this ( http://i.imgur.com/5nTU86x.png [^] ). Endless dodging and no offensive attacks. It goes on for so long that many of the goblins actually get enough experience to level up to *lords and *masters. This must be related to all of the "kill command not working" bug reports.
Steps To Reproduce | Start the save and watch the large mass of stationed military. download: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9930 [^]

This should be labeled dwarf fortress, not adventure mode. If someone could fix that, I would appreciate it. I managed to overcome this by trying several different deployment methods. By alternating which squad is stationed, which isn't, and where, I managed to get enough dwarfs to fight to easily kill the siege. This will never happen if you start the save and don't fiddle with any military assignments though. I've seen one dwarf attack a gobbo, but that was out of around 50+ battle reports, and I think that might have been because the dwarf went berserk. |

Would like to note that this is not limited to Adventurer Mode, it is very present in Fortress Mode. There's a reddit thread about this: http://redd.it/2isg15 [^] |
