Summary | 0008565: Fullscreen mode does not allow any keystrokes to go through
Description | In Ubuntu 14.10, when hitting F11 and going into fullscreen, no keystrokes can be passed through at all. Not only will the game stop responding to any input (it continues to run just fine), OS shortcuts, hotkeys, and mouse hotcorners will not work (as far as I know. While in fullscreen, the machine is blocked from hibernation/suspend, and no UI elements show except for notifications. There is no way to recover except for killing the computer forcibly (normal shutdown doesn't seem to work), and restarting from the last save. I've unmapped fullscreen toggle to prevent me from accidentally murdering my game. Similar issues and behavior were present in previous versions of Ubuntu (since 12.10), but were not as reliable as it is now. Hitting F11 *will* make you lose any ability to communicate with your computer.
Steps To Reproduce | > be on Ubuntu 14.10 > hit F11 > panic and hope nothing causes the game to pause until the next seasonal autosave

This sounds like either an SDL or an OS problem to me, especially if DF continues to run. Are you using any utilities? |

No utilities. |

What version of SDL are you using? Are you using a 32-bit or 64-bit platform? |

In the future, it would be helpful if you could mention duplicate reports in their comments section, not in the comments section of the report that they're a duplicate of. Please continue further discussion at 0007778. |
