Summary | 0009056: "invisible" twigs block cave-in
Description | http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=152824.0 [^] I'm trying to cave-in a wall of natural rock into a cavern lake to dam it off. Three of the segments are blocked just above the water because they hit twigs and branches that are not even visible without using 'k'. IMHO this is a bug because (1) twigs should not be able to support the weight of the world, and should act like floors, and (2) nothing that is not visible as an icon on the map should be able to support something. http://i.imgur.com/trnO0wV.png [^] shows an example. The three tiles missing in the dam are supported by the fungiwood branches (shown with 'k') and 'invisible' fungiwood twigs to the left and right of the current cursor position.

Can those twigs be invisible (=black tile unless selected) because there is cave-in dust on them, similar to 0008716? |

Looks like that part's related to me. From what I remember, constructed floors don't survive cave-ins (although maybe that's only true of natural floors) - if that's the case, trees probably shouldn't either. |

I got really confused at first why should some part of something be related to you, lethosor. Then I read it for the tenth time and got it. :D Building some 3x3 pillars (stairs in the mid, floors around) I have got a dwarf who flew through several floors before being stopped by a wall. IIRC other floor tiles that got impacted only by some cave-in dust survived the collapse. |
