Summary | 0000344: Knockback/"propelled away by the force of the blow" only happens rarely (same with throwing creatures any distance)
Description | I don't know if this is intentional or not (grand pity if it is intentional), but it seems that in combat creatures don't get struck by weapons and go flying away anymore like they did in 0.28. (picture your squad of hammerdwarfs clashing with goblins). That was great fun, I hope this is just a bug and not a design decision.
Steps To Reproduce | Just equip a warrior with a weapon that in theory should send creatures flying. Add an enemy. Watch.

I've seen creatures go flying since I have a hammerdwarf now, although the distance they flew was sibstantially reduced (around 5 tiles instead of 10-20+). I think this is partly design decision and partly just the way the new combat mechanics work. Probably intentional |

That said, try spawning a bronze collossus and a kobold in Arena, controlling the collossus, grabbing the kobold, and 'Throw'ing it. You're guaranteed to see it flying across the entire map and surviving. |

Toady reduced it on purpose, but it was before he redid the weight system, so it may have gotten reduced more than he intended. |

Its been reduced too much in my oponion, now my legendery superhumanly strong hammerman still cannot send elves flying not even one tile. |

I did manage to see it once, with a BC hitting a fleshball while in magma. Never seen that before in .31 otherwise. It got propelled several tiles. In case anybody is wondering what a fleshball is doing in magma, this is arena mode and .8 . |

Reminder sent to: Toady One Hey Toady -- another bug I suspect of being weight-related. I remember you made knockbacks less frequent after we talked about it during testing, and the balance seemed good at the time, but I think that happened prior to the mass/weight rewrites of March 1. |

Still happens, By the way, even a "legendary superhumanly tough" Wresler and fighter can only throw a FOX one tile away, What happened to the haleriously funny ability to send elves flying into trees with hammers or throwing people off cliffs/into magma/into water? |

I tested this now with 34.02, and a fight between a bronze colossus and a dingo pack did result in several long punts. This did not happen in the previous major version. I checked the reports that these were the result of blows, not throws. So I would say this looks like fixed. It still takes the colossus a very long time to strangle a dingo to death, but that is another issue... |

My adventurer propelled a crab several tiles away in 34.01. I think it can only happen when there is a big difference in sizes between the opponents. |

Okay, we'll call it fixed. Pleaser reopen this report or PM me on the forums if it's still a problem. |
