Summary | 0005875: Dwarves ignore dangers of water |
Description | With the introduction of ramps around all water edges, dwarves carelessly enter rivers despite the dangers, even when its *right at the edge of a waterfall in fast moving current*. This includes caravans that path through rivers on their way off the map.
That caravans do this is exceptionally unpleasant because there is no reasonable way to control their behavior. |
Steps To Reproduce | Have a river that terminates in another river at a waterfall. Wait for a caravan to exit through it.
-> Dead caravan at bottom of waterfall, goods scattered between lower river and upper river.
-> Dwarves attempt to get goods in upper river -> dead at bottom of waterfall |
Additional Information | Putting ramps along rivers seems to create more problems than it possibly solves. Rivers forming natural barriers was, well, natural. Currently you have to wall the entire length of a river to keep caravans from doing stupid stuff, which is ridiculous.
Have not checked to see if caravans will prefer bridges to just fording the river, but my guess is they'll try to cross the river in preference to any bridge unless the bridge just happens to be where they want to cross. |
